Together, we can significantly improve the achievements of each and every one of our students.
 
Teaching experience:
  • Peer mentor:
    • Elementary school through high school: For younger students.
    • University: For classmates and younger students.
    • Workplace: For co-workers; also helped organize other teams of peer mentors.
    • Webmaster: Mentored novice to take over most ongoing maintenance, updates and straightforward enhancements to running club website.
    • I still provide and organize others for peer mentoring, in numerous circumstances.

  • Tutor, Stanford University, CA:
    • Tutored in the early stages of the "English as a Second Language" program: I taught two Spanish speaking children, one of whom was the son of a migrant farm worker.

  • Ben-Gurion University, Israel (6½ years):
    • Teaching assistant, however, for 5 of those years, I lectured courses and was therefore treated as a lecturer.
    • Multi-lingual, varied-capability students, which required differentiated teaching and special accommodations.
    • Student profile: All undergraduates, mostly engineering, but some from computer science, science and mathematics.
    • Subjects: Programming, robotics, micro-computer architecture & hardware interfacing, numerical methods, artificial intelligence, computer-aided design, project supervision.

  • Cranfield University, England (3 years):
    • Lecturer (similar to an Assistant Professor in the USA).
    • Multi-lingual, varied-capability students, which required differentiated teaching and special accommodations.
    • Student profile: All graduate students, mostly software engineering, but some from engineering and science.
    • Subjects: Programming, software engineering, project supervision.
    • Research: Artificial intelligence, engineering/design/manufacturing software systems, complex systems.

  • Volunteer educator:
    • Public school, over 30 years.
    • Usually before or after work, I would regularly show up and volunteer, primarily with pre-K - 6 graders.
    • Child education on kibbutz: From 1973-1983, on a regular basis, and as a volunteer, I worked with children, mostly pre-K.
    • Subjects: Various, but especially, singing, verbal skills (storytelling), mathematics, science, physical education.

  • Trainer:
    • Operation of machine tools: Developed, created and delivered training programs for operators machine tools (lathes, milling machines, drill presses, etc., both manual and computer-controlled), for a wide range of workers.
    • Technical office, quality control, production management: Trained new workers, as well as my replacements each time I prepared to take on other responsibilities.
    • Software applications: Developed, created and delivered training programs for a number of different software applications.

  • Misc:
    • Open University, Israel (correspondence school, similar to the UK program): Programming, taught to adults and high school students, via correspondence and e-mail.
